Ever wondered how it would be like to learn the “Dance Of The Seven Veils” and enthrall both men and women alike? Here are the details:Peak Performance Dance and Fitness will stage the first ever Philippine Belly Dance Festival entitled “Belly Fest” on June 9, 2007 at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater of the Ateneo de Manila University; an all day outdoor bazaar and exhibition beginning at 11am and culminating in a colorful and exhilarating dance concert that starts at 7pm.The event will feature some of the top belly dance instructors and performers from all over the country. More than 50 belly dancers from Manila, Cebu, General Santos, Cagayan de Oro and Zamboanga will be featured on stage. Among those scheduled to perform is Jill Ngo-Crisologo, recently named Most Popular Belly Dance Instructor in Metro Manila by Total Woman Magazine (February 2007). Performing with her are lead dancers and choreographers Dr. Gemma Magtibay, Ms. Gladys Catanduanes, Ms. Arcel Benson, Ms. Lovely Aricheta, Ms. Papes Lao and Ms. Nilda Boquiren. The show will also feature jazz numbers by the Company of Ateneo Dancers, ballroom, flamenco and hip hop performances by the country’s top dancers and groups. To top it all, TV personality Regine Tolentino is expected to take to the stage.

There will also be outdoor belly dance exhibitions and a middle eastern bazaar open from 11am and closing just before the evening show. Learn how to play the doumbek or tablah, which are Middle Eastern instruments, attend free basic belly dancing workshops and wellness talks. You can also browse through booths offering exotic food, henna tattoos, belly dance accessories, middle eastern jewelry, home décor, costumes and clothes. Nestle gift packs, massage certificates and gym memberships will be given away to lucky ticket holders; plus free refreshments throughout the day.

Experience the flair of the Middle East and celebrate the start of a new trend in fitness and entertainment. Belly Fest 2007 promises to be a night of color, drama, and all things beautiful.
