iPhone Hysteria

Some say it was unwarranted, but the iPhone made history when it was released to the world Friday, June 29th. Within the same day, however, there were already complaints (such as this one) about the much-hyped gadget. Robert Scoble and his 13-year old son Patrick were the first to walk out of the Apple Store in Palo Alto with the iPhone in hand. Sadly, we Filipinos have to wait another 6 months before it is released here. Such is life, huh?

Check out this parody I found on YouTube. So far, it has had 5,768,052 hits! The video was directed by Allan Murray and Sean Haines of OMovies.com. They parlayed Paris’ most recent notoriety into something really hysterical. Starring Amber Hay as Paris/amberhay.com, James Evans as The Cop, Michael Schmidt as The Inmate, Zelda and Brigitte as The Dogs and featuring the Paparazzi as themselves.

A wealthy man was having an affair with an Italian woman for several years. One night, during one of their rendezvous, she confided to him that she was pregnant. Not wanting to ruin his reputation or his marriage, he paid a large sum of money if she would secretly have the child. If she stayed in Italy to raise the child, he would also provide child support until the child turned 18. She agreed, but asked how he would know when the baby was born.

To keep it discreet, he told her to simply mail him a postcard and write “Spaghetti” on the back. He would then arrange for child support payments to begin.

One day, about 9 months later, he came home to his confused wife. “Honey,” she said, “You received a very strange post card”. The wife watched as her husband read the card, turned white and fainted.

On the card was written: “Spaghetti, Spaghetti, Spaghetti. Two with meatballs, one without.”

Besides, I really think it’s gonna be one heck of a spectacle! For the dance enthusiasts out there, BELLYFEST, the first ever Philippine Belly Dance Festival, is coming your way – and SOON!
Here are the details:Peak Performance Dance and Fitness will stage the first ever Philippine Belly Dance Festival entitled “Belly Fest” on June 9, 2007 at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater of the Ateneo de Manila University; an all day outdoor bazaar and exhibition beginning at 11am and culminating in a colorful and exhilarating dance concert that starts at 7pm.The event will feature some of the top belly dance instructors and performers from all over the country. More than 50 belly dancers from Manila, Cebu, General Santos, Cagayan de Oro and Zamboanga will be featured on stage. Among those scheduled to perform is Jill Ngo-Crisologo, recently named Most Popular Belly Dance Instructor in Metro Manila by Total Woman Magazine (February 2007). Performing with her are lead dancers and choreographers Dr. Gemma Magtibay, Ms. Gladys Catanduanes, Ms. Arcel Benson, Ms. Lovely Aricheta, Ms. Papes Lao and Ms. Nilda Boquiren. I had to rush my mom to the emergency room around 2am as she was shivering so badly and was really, really weak. Only I was home that time. Good thing our two helpers offered to come with me because they knew how much I was scared spitless of hospitals. I had to endure the seemingly endless wait while the ER docs poked and prodded away. I was just staring at one spot the entire time, trying to block out the wails of the other patients and ignoring each swing of the door which signalled the entry of yet another person in pain…Good thing my mom came out fine after a few days confinement.Soup

A mint-green room with a king-size canopied bed facing wide french windows boasting a spectacular view of the ocean below.
